H.I.V.E.
Highly Intensive Versatile Envelope
A compact habitat that wraps around its inhabitants and augments their ability to grow food, build tools, make media, and move.
H.I.V.E. / field work / 2016NODE BRIEF
H.I.V.E. was inspired by the tiny house and apartment movement and Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion philosophy: be as functional and space-maximizing as humanly possible on a budget.
The space is designed to wrap around its inhabitants while augmenting their abilities in food production, hardware and software development, research, media creation, and bio-kinetic movement.
It is not a bunker. It is a working prototype of a low-footprint life-support envelope, tested in a dense urban environment.
